The Editorial Board for Intercurricular Programmes is looking for three members from October 2021

We are looking for:
1 master student
1 member of teaching staff
1 member of non-teaching staff / workshop specialist

The Editorial Board Intercurricular Programmes is looking for three new members who will join the board from October 2021 onwards. The Editorial Board is a working group realising one of the Quality Agreements: additional small-scale and intensive intercurricular educational programmes related to current themes and issues. Currently, Garden Department, Writing Classes, Recipes for a Technological Undoing, Ssssound and Embodied Knowledge Bureau are financed via the editorial board to develop into educational platforms. The Editorial Board supports and archives the research, knowledges and experiences generated by the platforms to share these with the wider community at the academy. What will you do?

You will share your perspective and ideas about education during meetings, discussions and working groups of the Editorial Board. You will contribute to the further developments of the Editorial Board to realize its goals. You are expected to do research on educational developments in academies of art and design, to (co)create public programs as symposia or lecture series, (co)develop series of publications, (co)create poster campaigns and other visual communication, write short texts on urgent topics, (re)think the future of art education, share your perspective and knowledge with the editorial board and the wider community at the academy.

Furthermore,

  • member(s) actively engage with questions on the future of art education;

  • member(s) initiate and / or produce public programs/ discussions;

  • member(s) perform tasks in a collective working structure;

  • member(s) reach out to students, teachers and others in the academy.

Profile

You have an interest in education and you are cooperative, critical and communicative. In addition, you enjoy working in a team on questions of educational development at an academy for arts and design.

We are looking for 1 master student, 1 member of teaching staff, and 1 member of non-teaching staff / workshop specialist (with):

  • a strong interest in art education and educational innovation;
  • an interest in / experience with working in / with collectives;
  • studying / working experience at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie;
  • an independent, development-oriented and curious attitude;
  • who can connect theory to practice;

What do we offer?

We offer a 0.05 FTE position at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie from 1 October 2021 onwards. The appointment is for one year, after which an evaluation will take place. The position can be renewed with one year for one time only. According to the Collective Labour Agreement for Higher Professional Education (CAO-HBO), the position is graded in scale 10.6. Student-members will be compensated via the student-scale. You will need to have a residence permit for the Netherlands.
