BODY SESSIONS is an initiative providing embodied/movement classes for the community of the Gerrit Rietveld Academie & Sandberg Instituut. We believe that practices that centre moving/feeling can provide invaluable tools for artists and students that work with their bodies, as well as those working in completely other fields, and that higher education reasonably should not address individuals only from the neck up.

6-8 PM @ Studio K
A joint event with BODY SESSIONS and CinemAsia LGBTQ+ at Studio K, Timorplein 62, Amsterdam.
During CinemAsia Film Festival, choreographer Jija Sohn will lead a workshop inspired by the deep listening text of Pauline Oliveros: "Deep Listening comes from noticing my listening or listening to my listening"
Through a series of exercises we will focus on enhancing openness, encouraging fluidity of roles. How can we move away from set roles and blur the boundaries between, for instance, performer and audience? Can we engage in active spectatorship? Can we be performer and audience at the same time?
The workshop is supported by The Asian Union.
