Hello witches and welcome to COVEN, a rietveld-sandberg student-run research group focused on dismantling power structures through the embodied practice of intersectional feminism and the recuperation of our connection to the natural world.
This is a space to explore an alternative society: a society that is not based on exploitative labour practices, gender or racial hierarchies and focuses on the recuperation of our relationship with the natural world and the multitudes of human and non-human beings inhabiting the world.
Radical care is our approach. We read, discuss, cook, gossip, explore non institutional care and healing practices and above all aim to create a community of support and knowledge sharing.

Welcome to another season of the COVEN, a student-run research group initiated in 2021 focusing on dismantling power structures through intersectional feminism and the connection between human nature and technology. Since last year, the group has been facilitating weekly encounters around various topics such as marginalized bodies, feminist heritage or health and care practices through both embodied & academic resources with regular discussions based on member's personal experiences and knowledge.

"This workshop will cover wide herbalism subjects, starting from basics to complex alchemy of making herbal remedies and healing cosmetics. You will learn some of the secrets of medicinal plants, but also how and when to pick them, seasonal stories, how to make tinctures, oils, balms, baths, magic elixirs, etc. Further you will be introduced to plant spirit medicine, and to methods how to bridge traditional herbalism and contemporary art practice. These methods are based on experience and practice of Iskra Bela who is a herbalist and artist living in Amsterdam. Iskra grows her versatile medicinal herbs garden in garden park Amstelglorie, following permaculture principles."

Iskra Bela, or White Spark, is my spiritual name. My civilian name is Branka Zgonjanin. I am an artist, choreographer, performer and a poet. I work and live in Amsterdam.
My spiritual name found me 15 years ago, in the midst of a personal crisis, and consequently inner transformation. I came out of that experience with discovery of my unique healing abilities. Since then I been studying and practicing diverse healing techniques, staring from Yumeiho Manual Therapy, Shiatsu, Deep Tissue Massage, Thai Massage, Tendon Massage, combined with Dance Release Techniques, Body Weather, Yoga, Herbalism, Shamanism and extensive knowledge of various spiritual techniques and understandings of human body and condition. From 2011-2014 I worked as a freelancer for Amsterdam Massage Center, and then I started my own practice.
My healing practice is syncretic, eclectic and holistic. My artistic mind allows me to see each person as a unique constellation, and results in giving a very personal and precise advice.
I commit to empowering others by igniting fire of self-healing in a natural way. I will assist you in finding your own inner healer and on developing long lasting personal balance. Eventually you won’t need me anymore, and this is precisely my goal.
My vision is a world in which people can stand on their own while creating together a fine balance of our global ecosystem. Consequently I offer my services to those who are willing to learn, improve, develop and contribute to the world which is changing.
