Le Bateau is an Amsterdam-based designer duo, comprised of Laëtitia Delauney and Aurélia Noudelmann, who met in the DesignLab department of the Gerrit Rietveld Academie. Our practice works with the conception of hybrid boats, where exchanges of knowledge, techniques, and ideas can take shape. These boats are created by and for inclusive initiatives in close collaboration with participating artists. We approach our work physically and conceptually: to facilitate rooms to reflect on community practices, especially for feminist and queer initiatives.

Le Bateau reimagines watercraft as platforms for collaboration and reflection. Their unique practice focuses on creating hybrid boats that serve as spaces to exchange knowledge, techniques, ideas, publications, and even films. What makes these boats special is that they are crafted through inclusive initiatives, providing a safe space for feminist and queer communities to connect and create together.
