2020
body, movement, performance, embodiment, somatic practice
We are initiating a movement and body-related practice platform, where we will explore, experiment, research and move collectively. The idea is to form a core group and work on a regular basis, with weekly encounters and occasional sessions with guests coming from various backgrounds within somatic practices.
We’ve already been working on some initial proposals and potential ways of beginning, however, let’s collectively choose themes to research and work on mentally and physically. This is to enable access to different fields of interest in a non-hierarchical and open way, so that each and everyone feels responsible to collectively care for sustaining the life of this project.
In the first two sessions we will discuss and listen to the needs and expectations of those who decide to commit to the project, to compose the content of the program together.
We personally value mutual consideration and commitment and hope to find people whom this resonates with. We ask for your commitment throughout the duration of this project (currently the plan runs till the end of the academic year). This is why we want to ask for a written motivation to participate in these sessions.
We would like this to be a safe and non-judgmental space to feel free and safe to explore one’s own body and in relation to others. We want to be as attentive as possible to personal histories, vulnerabilities, and identities. Finally, we want to see this as a knowledge creating and practice sharing project, and not a result driven one.
NB It is good to mention we are caring for everyone’s safety and health. We’ll be working with consideration to the current Corona regulations. Unfortunately, this also means only a limited number of people are allowed to move in a room.
by sending a written motivation before Monday 2 November to rietveld.movementplatform@gmail.com
Please, feel free to reach out if you have any questions related to this.
Keep those bodies moving :)
Kindly,
