In this two-session workshop with Giulia Damiani, students will be invited to think about their relationship to text and performance, considering the entanglements between the following terms: performance, performativity, and performative writing.

Performative writing has been defined as shedding light onto invisible aspects of the world through a multidimensional approach to language. How can we understand the intersections between the live event, the score, and the transformative potential of writing? Through references and exercises, the workshop will ask if the evocative potential of writing can contribute to the telling of alternative stories.
