“I Don’t Know Your Work” is an exhibition assembled by 15 students from the VAV-moving image department of the Gerrit Rietveld Academie. The exhibition is an ongoing process of curating itself, based on describing each other’s works merely based on what one experiences from the work without information from the artist. It is an attempt to experiment with the gap and the tension between the intention and perception of works.

“I Don’t Know Your Work” is part of VAV's Curatorial Practice, providing students with the opportunity to collectively curate and experiment with exhibition-making both inside and outside the academy. During the practice, participants develop a curatorial concept that can be based on the spatial parameters of the site, thematic exploration, artistic medium or a combination of these elements.
