Systema Algoritmus: A lecture series on algorithmic hauntologies
Fri
26 Jan
2024

On Friday, January 26, senior researcher Flavia Dzodan will give the third lecture "Latent Space/Liminal Space" in the Systema Algoritmus series, hosted by the Critical Studies department. The lecture is open to all, but if you're not a Rietveld/Sandberg student please register via:

criticalstudies@sandberg.nl

The series attempts to theorize an algorithmic hauntology, drawing on Jacques Derrida's notions around the spectral remnants of persistent and recurrent cultural artefacts that are encoded into technologies. If Carl Linnaeus defined the way we have codified nature through the publication of his foundational "Systema Naturae", what would a "Systema Algoritmus" entail?

The lecture will begin at 1pm in the Critical Studies studio, which can be found on the first floor of the Sandberg's FedLev building (address: Fred. Roeskestraat 98). Since it's a lunchtime lecture, feel free to bring your lunch. Snacks and coffee/tea will be provided.
