The act of writing, of framing thoughts and ideas within language, is integral to the creative practice. It is one thing to have an idea, it is another thing to say it, let alone write it.
In this light, we’re organising a series of student gatherings, workshops and lectures where students from all corners of the Rietveld & Sandberg community can meet and investigate different approaches to the use of text (in their practice).
The goal of this platform is to articulate the voice of the artist/designer through a communal practice and space. We aim to open up the often insular practice of working with text; to share with others and cultivate a space for collectivity and feedback. A body of many different voices germinating in discourse.

we submit to the spirit of winter, accepting and respecting its appeal for us to slow down and rest, wrap ourselves up; making an effort to feel warm and protected, simmering cozily while the rain, sleet and snow comes down diagonally outside.
we will gather on friday to commemorate the beginning of the end of winter. we will bring some material to share with you, and afterwards we will host a session of sharing/caring of texts. we perceive texts as anything text-based you are fiddling with - poems, prose, dialogue in freedom, names of electric appliances, supermarket lists, voice notes, song writing, music, theatre pieces.... you name it, we'll take it ! and if you feel like coming without a piece also welcome-welcome!!!
