The Graare [Gerrit Rietveld Academie Augmented Reality Exhibition] is a virtual multiplatform exhibition made for Graphic Designers by Graphic Designers. We want to show that graphic design and graphic works can be adopted and transformed to exist beyond the physical form. In these uncertain times, we are using new tech to build a widely accessible virtual exhibition.
The Exhibition will happen without the need for physical contact in the open space of the Museumkwartier in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

Augmented Reality Exhibition
We are excited to invite you all to come to our virtual exhibition that will open this Saturday, the 14th of February and stay open until Monday evening. The Graare is a virtual multiplatform exhibition initiative by the students of the Gerrit Rietveld Academie. We want to demonstrate that artworks can be adopted and transformed to exist beyond the physical form. The exhibition is located on the streets of Amsterdam and does not require any physical contact. So it’s safe.
What to expect?
- The exhibition consists of several stickers around the Museumplein.
- Each sticker contains a QR-code and a password to access the exhibited work.
- You can only access the work if you scan the QR codes at the locations of the exhibition.
- We provide an online map that contains the positions of all the stickers, with the possibility to navigate between the works.
- All the works are around the Museumplein, within a 3–5-minute walking distance from each other.
- You need the Instagram app on your phone to be able to access the AR artworks.
Prizes:
We offer several prizes for interaction with the exhibition. To enter the competition, you need to participate in the exhibition (Sunday or Monday) and document it with your phone. The documentation should be a picture or a video. To participate, you need to take a picture or a video with any work at the exhibition, post it on your stories, and tag @graare.nl. The best two documentations will receive prizes – a merch bag or a t-shirt, glowing in the dark. Results will be announced on the GRAARE Instagram profile on Tuesday, the 16th of February.
